Established in 2016, the Joseph G. Manupella Memorial Run was created to honor the inspiring life of longtime Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Joseph Manupella.
Manupella worked at the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club for 50 years. He believed that every kid deserved a chance and you never should forget where you came from. With the help of our generous sponsors and loyal community members, we're proud to get together annually on the last Saturday in April for a day of family and fun and benefit our beloved Boys and Girls Club.
The race is held on the first Saturday of May in the heart of Lansingburgh, the city that Manupella was born and raised, with a certified 5K run/walk and 1 mile walk the race is fit for families and serious runners alike.
All proceeds benefit the Lansingburgh Boys & Girls Club. The club provides a healthy environment of social, educational and recreational programs for boys and girls ages 5 to 18. It also serves as a community center for many organizations. All current LBGC members will be able to register for the race free of charge.
